Yellowstone National Park opens up the Roosevelt Archway to Girl Scouts interested in geology, service, and adventure.  "Expedition Yellowstone" gives girls the opportunity to learn about the natural and cultural resources and issues affecting the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and promotes stewardship and preservation in home communities.

Girls will spend four days in Yellowstone Park conducting scientific observations, learning about the powerful geology of the Park, and earning the Girl Scout Resource Stewardship and Youth Volunteer Corps patches from the National Park Service.

There are only four adult spots open for Girl Scout adults who will act as chaperones for the group. "Expedition Yellowstone" staff will provide instruction and educational guidance while our GS adults and GSMW staff help organize the group, establish Kaper charts, manage group dynamics, and ensure Girl Scout traditions are followed.

Your adventure will begin in the town of Gardiner, Montana where all girl and adult participants will meet and load into vans. The crew will enter Yellowstone Park and stay in a dormitory setting where all participants will live and eat together. Your "Expedition Yellowstone" educators will lead you on scientific explorations each day of the program. You will also spend at least 10 hours providing community service to the park. After breakfast, you'll be outside until dinnertime. After dinner, you'll learn more about Yellowstone ecology and then get some time to socialize.

At the end of the trip, vans will return participants to the meeting spot in Gardiner. GSMW will mail a confirmation letter before the trip. This letter will include a packing list and the details of the meeting spot and parking.

Registration is very limited. Understand that large groups and multiple adults may not all get into the program.

Registration for this event is $160 per girl or adult and closes on October 5th. After October 5th, your program registration is non-refundable.
