Become a Teen Mentor as you work toward earning your Program Aide Award!

This training is necessary to earn the award, and will provide the skills and tools you need to be prepared to work with younger girls and develop your leadership skills.

When girls guide or teach others, they act as mentors. An exciting part of a Girl Scout’s development, teen mentoring is a win-win proposition!  As teen mentors, Girl Scout Cadettes gain experience by sharing skills, testing knowledge and trying out new leadership roles. For the girls being mentored, it means a chance to be with and learn from teens – some of their favorite people!

Please note that in order to attend PA Training, you must earn a Leader in Action (LiA) Award for Cadette Girl Scouts.

After completing this training, girls will need to work with younger girls over the course of six separate activity sessions in order to finish earning their Program Aide Award.  This might be assisting girls with Journey or badge activities, helping at day camp, or helping at a special service unit or council event.

Snacks and a Program Aide Binder are included in the cost of the event. Girls will need to bring the following items to the training:

- A song or game that you can lead and teach to others (no board or card games)

- Water bottle

- Signed Activity Permission/Health History form (yellow or blue card)

Registration for this event is $10 per girl and closes on May 25th. After May 25th, your program registration is non-refundable.
