Horse Sense: Liberty & Agility - Casper (Grades K-12)
***THIS PROGRAM IS NOW FULL***
The goal of all Liberty training is to develop a true connection between the horse and human based on how horses interact and communicate within their herd. Horses at liberty are free of all tack, including the halter. Horses are free to choose whether or not they participate in activities with their human.
We focus on building trust, appropriate communication, safety awareness, and an overall better understanding of horse behaviors. Our focus is to allow the girls to practice their critical thinking skills while participating in a variety of liberty exercises. These specific games will build rapport among students, as well as giving them an opportunity to work with horses in a way that they never have.
Girls will earn a patch to show off their new skills, and Juniors will earn the Horseback Riding Badge!
9am -12pm: Team Oriented Activities
These unmounted activities in the morning session are designed to build self-esteem, healthy communication, problem solving, emotional regulation, trust, awareness, and other important leadership and life skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of games that challenge them to ‘think outside the box,’ and tests their knowledge of horses.
We will break for a provided lunch.
1pm-4pm: Group Sessions
Girls will be divided into groups. There will be a riding group, classroom, and stable management station (which will be upstairs in the winter). Depending on how many arrive, we could have 2-3 groups of young ladies. Students will rotate between stations throughout the afternoon.
