Challenge Island: Eco & Inventor Badge Adventure - Virtual (Grades K-3)
Challenge Island's virtual programming offers Girl Scouts a chance to use their imagination and problem-solving skills to come up with creative solutions to real-life challenges! In this program, taught by our special guest Challenge Island instructor, Girl Scouts will bring their own treasure chest of problem-solving supplies on their way to earning their Daisy Eco Learner or Brownie Inventor Badge.
During the program, kids will face an obstacle. Using their whits, imagination, and skills, they will invent a solution using household craft supplies. Whether your girl is a Daisy wanting to learn how to protect nature while camping, or a Brownie exploring ways to engineer a better world, our Girl Scouts will experience an unforgettable adventure while having STEAM-tastic fun!
Girls will need to find the following supplies around their house or during a quick trip to the store:
- poster board
- tape
-
markers
- scissors
- glue
- note cards
-
string
- construction paper
- Popsicle sticks
-
toothpicks
- cups
- straws
- paper clips
- paper
In the confirmation email, Challenge Island will specify the supply list and equip girls with a list of additional and optional items.
We recommend adult help for Daisies. Depending on participant engagement and the number of participants, this program can end at 6:45 or 7:00PM. After the program, participants will receive their earned badge and a Challenge Island fun patch in the mail.
This program is only open to Daisy and Brownie members of the Montana and Wyoming Girl Scout council.
Registration for this event is $10 per girl and closes on April 3rd. After April 3rd, your program registration is non-refundable.
