Girl Scouts, it’s time to lead the way at your favorite state parks! How? By heading out to explore your local state parks during this year’s Girls Scouts Love State Parks events! State parks across our council, and across the country, will host amazing outdoor and nature activities that are sure to entertain and inspire our Girl Scouts, their friends, and their families.
Join GSMW for a fun-filled and guided boat tour of Gates of the Mountains. For over 125 years guests have been following in the path of Lewis and Clark exploring the Gates of the Mountains. On the Missouri River, the hardy members of the Lewis and Clark expedition toiled to move upstream. There loomed before them towering rock formations unlike any they had ever seen. From both sides of the river, limestone cliffs rose to a spectacular height.
“In many places,” wrote Meriwether Lewis, “the rocks seem ready to tumble on us.” At each bend in the waterway, great stone walls seemed to block passage, only to open like gentle giant gates as the expedition drew near. In his journal, Meriwether wrote: “I shall call this place: GATES OF THE MOUNTAINS.”
The tour stops at Meriweather picnic area, so pack a lunch! This is
a two-hour guided tour. You must pay through the Gates of the

boat guide's fee is $10/child and $20/adult.
If you would like the optional Girl Scouts Love State Parks fun patch, pay through this registration page. The $3 payment does not get you a boat ride!
Girl Scouts' friends, family, and troops are all welcome to register and join the fun. Each Girl Scout must be accompanied by a registered adult participant. Troops should meet required adult-to-girl ratios.
GSLSP Patches for this event are $3 per person. Purchase patches by August 27th. After August 27th, patch purchases are non-refundable.
