Every year, thousands of Girl Scouts explore the natural wonders found across our country during the Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend. Girl Scouts nationwide and their friends and families celebrate our shared love of the outdoors.

Girl Scouts are welcomed to join on Sep 15th and experience the Giant Springs, which is one of the largest freshwater springs in the county, producing over 156 million gallons of water each day. Listen to the tranquil sounds of the water cascading into the Roe River, once listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s shortest river. Visit the Giant Springs Fish Hatchery and take a walk through the visitor center, and feed the fish in the show pond. Bring your binoculars or camera and enjoy the park’s exceptional birding opportunities.

After the fish hatchery and feeding the fish, participants will make seed bombs.  Girl scouts and family members are then free to explore the beautiful nature trails available along the rivers edge trail.

Each Girl Scout must be accompanied by a registered adult participant. Troops should meet required adult to girl ratios. Registered Girl Scout participants will receive a Fun Patch.

Registration for this event is $8 per girl and closes on August 29th. After August 29th, your program registration is non-refundable.
