When did you start with Girl Scouts? Why did you want to join?
I started as a Girl Scout in the first grade. I think it was something that some of my friends were doing, and I had seen their older sisters in it too.
Where were you a Girl Scout?
Primarily in San Gorgonio Council in California. I also worked with the Orange County Council, volunteered for the National Convention in Salt Lake City and Atlanta, and worked at Our Chalet in Switzerland. I am a WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Scouts) Volunteer, volunteering for international online events, facilitation, and the Core Mission Team.
What is your favorite Girl Scout memory?
Oh gosh - hard to choose, but some of my favorite memories include learning how to sail and canoe at Camp Scherman in California, camping and having campfires with my troop, and attending troop meetings where we alternately got a lot done and just hung out and did things like learn to play guitar and ukulele at campfire jam sessions with other troops and leaders.
What is your favorite Girl Scout achievement?
Getting my staff scarf at Our Chalet when I interned there in 2016. It was a great opportunity to reconnect to the movement years after graduating high school and was my first global Girl Scouting experience.
