Site-Based Programming
Through local partnerships, girls can join a troop directly in their school or after-school program, making Girl Scouts more accessible for girls who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Both settings offer a strong sense of safety and familiarity. In each of our partnering sites, we provide programming for Daisies (K–1st grade) and Brownies (2nd–3rd grade).
Within our partnered sites, Girl Scout Squads meet twice a month. Using the Girl Scout Experience Box, Girl Scouts learn life skills, set goals, and earn badges and patches along the way! Existing staff from our partnered sites go above and beyond their daily duties, stepping into the role of Squad Leader to support their squad's Girl Scout experience.

Join a Girl Scout Squad
Introducing Girl Scout Squads! Bringing the Girl Scout experience to girls, where they are.
Girl Scout Squads are formed within our partnered school districts and after-school program sites. Squads currently serve girls in grades K-1 (Daisies) and 2-3 (Brownies). Squads meet twice a month to learn life skills, set goals, and earn badges and patches along the way. To provide a strong sense of safety and familiarity to participating girls, meetings are led by a Squad Leader, typically an existing staff member of our partner site. Most importantly, girls who join a squad are members of Girl Scouts, meaning they are welcome to participate in all camps and council events outside of their structured meeting setting.

Bring Girl Scout Squads to your school or after-school program this year.
In response to a national decline in volunteerism, coupled with evolving local community and family needs, bringing the Girl Scout experience to girls, where they are, is as important as ever.
Our Council is committed to the sustainability of this new site-based programming initiative, and the level of safety and familiarity it provides to girls. At each partnered site our Council intends to:
- Hire 1 Daisy and 1 Brownie Squad Leader, typically existing staff members of the partnered site who we issue a bi-annual stipend to.
- Provide Squads with a new Girl Scout Experience Box each month, with enough meeting plans and project materials for both monthly meetings.
- Provide financial assistance to eliminate barriers in participation.

Girl Scout 3-Year Promise: Community Leaders Making a Promise to Site-Based Programming
To help sustain and expand this initiative, we are seeking partnerships with community-minded businesses that value youth development and educational opportunities. Your business can help ensure the sustainability of Girl Scout Squads by making a 3-year promise to programming.
Although Montana and Wyoming are vast and all of our regions have diverse needs, the key factors of support for Girl Scout Squads are the same. To support Girl Scout Squads, here's how you can make your promise:
- Support Squad: Create opportunities for at least six girls to join a newly established squad.
- Squad Leader Believer: Provide an annual stipend to one Girl Scout Squad Leader.
- Ambitious Ambassador: Help establish one Daisy and one Brownie Squad in one of our partnered sites, serving up to 40 girls and two Squad leaders each year.
- Golden Influence: Help expand our reach across Montana and Wyoming, while supporting 80 Girl Scouts each year!
