Ready to get your troop into the great outdoors? Join GSMW at Wild Rose Lodge in Livingston for a hands-on cookout designed to level up your outdoor skills.
You’ll master everything from fire safety to Dutch oven delicacies—all while swapping stories and sharing a meal with fellow volunteers from the area.
The Essentials:Remember, for troops to go on an overnight campout, to have a campfire, or to host a cookout, volunteers must complete GSMW's Outdoor Training. So, before you attend this training, be sure to complete the online portions of our Outdoor Training. You can find complete Outdoor Training directions and the links here: http://www.gsmw.org/en/outdoors-travel/get-outdoors/Outdoor_Training.html
What to expect:
- Fire Skills: Mastering safety and starting
techniques.
- Gear & Methods: Foil tents, stick
cooking,
- Dutch ovens, and camp stoves.
We provide the expertise and the food (including vegetarian options); you bring the appetite and a curious spirit.
Rain or Shine: We’ll be outdoors regardless of the weather, so please dress for the elements.
Adults Only: To keep the focus on training, this session is for adults only; children of any age are not permitted.
Can’t make it? Find another parent to attend and become your troop’s designated outdoor expert. An adult membership is just $30 and is a great way for parents to stay invested in their Girl Scout's experience. Come for the skills, stay for the camp food, enjoy the camaraderie.
Registration for this event is $20 per person and closes on June
2nd.
After June 2nd, your program registration is non-refundable.
